Operations Specialist – Delaware office:
Basic Function:
An Operations Specialist performs a variety of duties relating to, but not limited to, the overall day-to-day operations of deposit services including IRA and Roth accounts, new accounts support, ACH (Automated Clearing House), electronic banking services, customer database maintenance, archiving documents in an electronic format, fraud monitoring and BSA/ AML monitoring and reporting. This position consists of backroom operations duties as well as providing backup support to customer service. This position provides an advanced level of support for the institution’s staff in various departments. The individual performing this job must demonstrate strong attention to detail, organizational skills, the ability to follow procedures, meet time-critical deadlines, and stay versed on federal regulations with the goal of attaining required certifications as required by the position. Basic computer knowledge, experience with Excel and Word and legible handwriting is essential. The successful individual will be able to work independently and as a team with the desire and motivation to improve their ability to perform each function quickly and accurately with the goal of taking on new and more advanced responsibilities.
Job Accountabilities*:
- Handle return transit check items.
- Assist with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) enhanced due diligence through daily monitoring of various customer transaction reports.
- Assists with ATM/Debit card, activity review, cardholder support, Reg E disputes, adjustments, and Fraud Monitoring.
- Provide debit card/ATM card support, CardValet or similar product assistance and password reset. Review card denials, maintain card point of sale and ATM dollar threshold limits and other card related issues.
- Provides customer support with fraud and/or identity theft issues.
- Scan, index, archive documents.
- Monitors Dormant Bank checks and Escheatment.
- Assists with the instant issue of debit card supply and processing.
- Reviews and balances daily settlement for ACH, card & electronic services, including exception item handling.
- Perform return in-clearing processing.
- Assists with reviews of the daily customer overdraft report.
- Assists with the review of the kiting report.
- Assist with NSF and Negative Balance monitoring.
- Initiates, receives, and books wire transfer activity within prescribed limits.
- Closes deposit accounts as needed including IRA and Roth accounts.
- Provide advanced IRA and Roth IRA knowledge. Provide processing, maintenance, and compliance monitoring of these products.
- Performs research for various request types including subpoenas, garnishments and SSI.
- Reviews file maintenance changes and Reg CC check holds.
- Monitors Internet Banking activity and reports.
- Assists with filing federal and state reports such as IOLTA, IRA, and interest on deposits withholding.
- Completes interest checks and other mailings.
- Assists with development, enhancement and implementation of products or services.
- Provides the retail department assistance with backup customer support.

Training and Experience:
- Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum Experience: 1 Year
- Electronic services: Knowledge and ability to use Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) Certification: not required but willing to train and obtain certification or meet equivalent training requirements. Fidelity Federal will cover this expense.
